1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Sparkli2Shine Cleaning Services. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our cleaning services, our website, and any booking, communication, or transaction between you (“client,” “you,” or “your”) and Sparkli2Shine Cleaning Services (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the company”).
By requesting an estimate, booking a service, or otherwise engaging with our business, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, we ask that you refrain from using our services.
These Terms apply to all residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, deep cleaning, recurring cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, post-construction cleanup, and any other cleaning services offered by Sparkli2Shine, whether booked through our website, by phone, by email, through a third-party scheduling platform, or in person. They apply equally to one-time bookings and to ongoing recurring service arrangements, and they remain in effect for the duration of the client relationship unless replaced by a more recent version posted on our website.
We reserve the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services, staffing, pricing structure, or applicable law. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes. Clients who do not agree with an updated version of these Terms should discontinue booking services and may contact us to discuss any concerns before their next scheduled appointment.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply.
- “Service” refers to any cleaning task, package, or plan booked through Sparkli2Shine.
- “Property” refers to the residential or commercial location where services are performed.
- “Estimate” refers to a preliminary price range provided before a final walkthrough or job assessment.
- “Quote” refers to a confirmed price based on property size, condition, scope of work, and any special requests.
- “Recurring service” refers to any cleaning plan booked on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.
- “Team member” refers to any individual employed, contracted, or otherwise authorized by Sparkli2Shine to perform services on our behalf.
- “Scope of work” refers to the specific list of tasks agreed upon at booking for a given appointment.
- “Special request” refers to any task or accommodation requested by the client that falls outside our standard service checklist.
These definitions are intended to provide clarity throughout this document and do not limit the plain meaning of any term used elsewhere in our communications with clients.
3. Services Provided
Sparkli2Shine offers a range of cleaning services designed for homes, offices, rental properties, and commercial spaces throughout the Quad Cities region, including East Moline, Davenport, Moline, Bettendorf, Rock Island, and nearby communities. Our services include, but are not limited to, residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, deep cleaning, recurring cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, and post-construction cleanup.
The specific tasks included in each service are outlined at the time of booking and may vary depending on the plan selected, the condition of the property, and any special requests submitted by the client. Standard residential visits generally include kitchens, bathrooms, common living areas, bedrooms, dusting, floor care, and trash removal, while commercial visits are typically scoped around office areas, breakrooms, restrooms, and high-touch surfaces. Deep cleaning and post-construction cleanup involve a more detailed pass, often addressing buildup, dust, and debris that standard visits are not designed to handle.
While we make every reasonable effort to complete all agreed-upon tasks during a scheduled visit, certain conditions, including excessive clutter, structural damage, pest infestations, or hazardous materials, may prevent our team from completing specific tasks. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and discuss alternative arrangements, which may include rescheduling the affected portion of the job or adjusting the scope of work for that visit.
Sparkli2Shine does not provide services that require specialized licensing, such as mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, pest control, or HVAC servicing, unless explicitly agreed upon in writing and performed by a qualified subcontractor. We also do not perform exterior window cleaning, heavy furniture moving, hauling or removal of materials, or any task that poses an unreasonable safety risk to our team without appropriate equipment and prior arrangement.
4. Booking, Scheduling, and Estimates
All bookings are subject to availability. Estimates provided prior to a walkthrough or detailed intake are preliminary and based on the information you provide, including property size, condition, and the scope of requested work. Final quotes are confirmed after we review the property in person or gather sufficient detail through photos, video, or a phone consultation. We encourage clients to provide as much detail as possible at the time of inquiry, including square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and any known problem areas, so that our estimate is as accurate as possible from the outset.
We ask that clients provide accurate and complete information when requesting a booking, including property size, number of rooms, current condition, and any areas requiring special attention. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in a revised quote at the time of service or a rescheduled appointment if the actual scope of work significantly exceeds what was originally described.
Appointment windows are typically provided rather than exact arrival times, as cleaning duration can vary based on the previous job’s scope and any unforeseen circumstances encountered during the day. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you by phone, text, or email if we are running significantly behind schedule. Recurring service clients will be assigned a consistent day and general time window, though minor adjustments may occur due to holidays, weather, staffing changes, or unforeseen circumstances.
Same-day and next-day booking requests are accommodated when possible but are not guaranteed, particularly during peak seasons such as spring and the period surrounding major holidays. Clients seeking a specific date are encouraged to book as far in advance as their schedule allows.
5. Payment Terms
Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance and confirmed in writing. We accept the payment methods listed on our website or communicated directly by our team, which may include cash, check, card, or electronic payment platforms. Receipts are provided upon request for all completed services.
For recurring service plans, clients may set up automatic billing on the agreed schedule. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that payment information remains current and that sufficient funds are available at the time each payment is processed. Failed or declined payments may result in a pause of service until the balance is resolved, and repeated payment failures may result in a requirement to switch to a different payment method going forward.
Prices listed on our website, marketing materials, or verbal estimates are starting points and are not guaranteed final prices. Final pricing is determined by property size, condition, scope of work, frequency of service, ease of access, and any special requests. Properties with unusually heavy buildup, excessive clutter, pet hair accumulation, or other conditions beyond typical wear may be subject to an adjusted quote communicated before work begins.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing for recurring clients with reasonable notice, typically no less than fourteen days before the change takes effect. Such adjustments may reflect changes in the cost of supplies, labor, or the scope of the recurring plan itself. Clients will always be notified of pricing changes before they take effect and may choose to modify or cancel their plan in response.
Late payments may be subject to a service pause or a rescheduling of future appointments until the outstanding balance is settled. We do not charge late fees but reserve the right to decline future bookings for accounts with a history of non-payment or repeated payment disputes.
6. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
We understand that plans change. Clients who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment are asked to provide at least forty-eight hours of notice whenever possible so that we can adjust our schedule and offer the opening to another client. Cancellations made with less than twenty-four hours of notice may be subject to a cancellation fee, which will be communicated at the time of booking and reflected in your service agreement.
Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may result in a requirement for prepayment on future bookings or, in some cases, a suspension of service. If our team arrives at a scheduled appointment and is unable to access the property or complete the service due to circumstances outside our control, including a locked door, an unresponsive client, or an unsafe environment, a trip fee may apply to cover travel time and lost scheduling capacity.
Recurring service clients who wish to cancel an ongoing plan are asked to provide notice prior to the next scheduled visit. We do not require long-term contracts for recurring service, and clients may pause or cancel their plan at any time with appropriate notice. Clients who wish to temporarily pause recurring service, such as during travel or a seasonal break, are welcome to do so by notifying our team in advance, and their regular schedule will resume on the agreed date.
Weather-related cancellations initiated by Sparkli2Shine due to unsafe road or travel conditions will always be rescheduled at no additional charge and will not count against a client’s cancellation history.
7. Access to Property
Clients are responsible for providing our team with reasonable access to the property at the scheduled appointment time. This may include a key, garage code, lockbox code, alarm disarm instructions, or arrangements to be present during the visit. If our team is unable to access the property through no fault of our own, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation, and applicable fees may apply.
If a key or access code is provided to our team, we agree to handle it responsibly, store it securely, and use it solely for the purpose of providing scheduled services. Keys and access codes are not shared outside of the assigned cleaning team and are not retained beyond the length of the active service relationship unless the client requests otherwise for ongoing recurring service.
Clients who provide ongoing access for recurring service should notify us promptly of any changes to access instructions, alarm codes, gate codes, or property contacts. Failure to update access information in a timely manner may result in a missed or rescheduled appointment being treated according to our standard cancellation policy.
8. Client Responsibilities
To help our team perform effectively and safely, clients are asked to secure or disclose the location of valuables, fragile items, sentimental belongings, and important documents prior to service. While our team takes care of all items in a property, we recommend that particularly delicate or high-value items, such as jewelry, cash, heirlooms, or important paperwork, be stored separately or pointed out in advance so that appropriate care can be taken.
Clients should also disclose any known hazards on the property, including structural issues, exposed wiring, mold, pest activity, or areas requiring special caution. Failure to disclose known hazards may limit our ability to complete certain tasks and may affect liability coverage for any resulting issues arising from those undisclosed conditions.
We ask that clients clear excessive clutter from surfaces and floors prior to a scheduled visit whenever reasonably possible, as heavy clutter can limit the scope of work our team is able to complete within the allotted time. For clients who are unable to tidy before a visit, we are happy to discuss a light organizing add-on where our schedule allows, though this is not included in standard cleaning packages.
Clients are also responsible for ensuring that utilities such as water and electricity are functioning at the property on the day of service, as our team relies on these to complete most cleaning tasks effectively.
9. Pets and Children
We love pets and understand they are part of the household, but for safety reasons, we ask that pets be secured in a separate room, crate, or outdoor area during service unless prior arrangements have been made with our team. This helps protect both your pet and our team members, and it allows our staff to work efficiently without interruption or the risk of a pet escaping through an open door.
Similarly, for the safety of children and to allow our team to work without obstruction, we recommend that children not be present in active cleaning areas during service. Cleaning products, equipment, and wet floors can pose a hazard to unsupervised children, and our team’s focus needs to remain on the work at hand.
Sparkli2Shine is not liable for incidents involving unsupervised pets or children during a scheduled appointment. Clients who anticipate having pets or children present during a visit are encouraged to communicate this in advance so that our team can plan accordingly.
10. Breakage, Damage, and Liability
Our team takes great care while working in your home or business, but accidents can occasionally happen. In the event that an item is broken, damaged, or lost as a direct result of our team’s work, please notify us within forty-eight hours of the appointment so that we can investigate and determine an appropriate resolution. Claims reported after this window may be more difficult to verify and may not be eligible for reimbursement.
Sparkli2Shine is not liable for damage to items that were already fragile, improperly secured, previously damaged, or made of materials known to be prone to breakage during routine cleaning, including but not limited to certain stone countertops, antique furniture, or delicate décor, unless such items were specifically disclosed and handled per client instruction.
We are also not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing conditions of the property, including worn flooring, faulty fixtures, peeling paint, or structural issues that may be affected by standard cleaning procedures. Clients are encouraged to disclose any known vulnerabilities prior to service so that our team can take appropriate precautions or avoid certain areas entirely if requested.
Claims for damage must be submitted in writing, including a description of the item, the date of service, and any supporting photos where available. Verified claims will be resolved through repair, replacement, or reimbursement at our discretion, up to the limits outlined in our insurance policy. We aim to resolve all reported claims within a reasonable timeframe and will keep the client informed throughout the process.
11. Insurance and Bonding
Sparkli2Shine maintains general liability coverage appropriate to the scope of our operations. Proof of insurance is available upon request for clients who require documentation for their own records or property management requirements.
While we carry coverage to protect against accidental damage caused directly by our team’s actions, this coverage does not extend to pre-existing property conditions, acts of third parties, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Clients are encouraged to maintain their own homeowner’s, renter’s, or commercial property insurance, as our coverage is not a substitute for the client’s own policy and may not cover every type of loss. Commercial clients in particular are encouraged to review their own facility insurance policies to understand how third-party service providers are addressed under their coverage.
12. Equipment, Products, and Supplies
Unless otherwise arranged, Sparkli2Shine provides all standard cleaning equipment and supplies necessary to complete a scheduled service, including vacuums, mops, cloths, and general-purpose cleaning products. We use products selected for effectiveness and general safety across a wide range of surfaces and households.
Clients with specific product preferences, sensitivities, or requirements, including a preference for fragrance-free or eco-conscious products, are welcome to request accommodations at the time of booking, and we will make reasonable efforts to honor these requests. Clients who prefer that we use products they supply themselves may do so, provided the products are clearly labeled and left in an accessible location, though we cannot guarantee the same results with products outside our standard supply.
We are not responsible for the performance of client-supplied products or for any surface reaction, discoloration, or damage that results from their use.
13. Satisfaction Guarantee
We want every client to feel confident in the work we provide. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of a completed service, please contact us within twenty-four hours so that we can address the concern promptly while the details are still fresh. Where reasonable, we will arrange a follow-up visit to correct any missed areas or tasks that fall within the original scope of work at no additional charge.
Our satisfaction guarantee applies to the specific tasks included in the booked service and does not extend to items or areas that fall outside the agreed scope, tasks that require specialized equipment not included in standard service, or concerns raised more than seventy-two hours after the appointment. We view this guarantee as a core part of how we build trust with every client, and our team is always willing to discuss a concern directly before considering the matter closed.
14. Health and Safety
Sparkli2Shine team members follow standard safety practices while performing services, including the use of appropriate cleaning products, equipment, and protective measures where needed. Clients with specific product sensitivities, allergies, or preferences regarding cleaning agents should communicate these details at the time of booking so that we can make reasonable accommodations where possible.
If a property presents a health or safety hazard to our team, including but not limited to pest infestations, mold, hazardous materials, aggressive animals, or unsafe structural conditions, we reserve the right to decline or pause service until the hazard is resolved. In such cases, standard cancellation or rescheduling terms may apply, and we will communicate the reason for the pause directly with the client.
Our team members are trained to recognize common safety concerns in residential and commercial environments, and we ask clients to support a safe working environment by disclosing known hazards in advance.
15. Photography and Marketing Use
With client permission, Sparkli2Shine may occasionally photograph completed work for use in marketing materials, our website, or social media. Photographs are taken of the property and completed work only, and we do not photograph personal belongings, identifying documents, or areas the client requests we avoid. Clients who prefer not to have their property photographed may opt out at any time by informing our team prior to service, and this preference will be noted on file for future visits.
16. Privacy and Data Use
Sparkli2Shine collects personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for the purpose of scheduling, billing, and communication related to services provided. We do not sell client information to third parties. Information may be shared with payment processors, scheduling software, or accounting tools solely for the purpose of facilitating our services and maintaining accurate business records.
Clients may request that we remove their information from our records at any time, subject to any legal or accounting requirements that may require certain records to be retained for a defined period. We take reasonable precautions to protect client information from unauthorized access.
17. Communication Preferences
Sparkli2Shine communicates with clients primarily by phone, text message, and email regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, and billing matters. Clients who prefer a specific method of communication are welcome to let us know, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate that preference.
By providing a phone number or email address at the time of booking, clients consent to receive service-related communications through those channels. Clients who wish to opt out of promotional communications, such as seasonal offers or referral announcements, may do so at any time while continuing to receive essential service-related messages.
18. Force Majeure
Sparkli2Shine is not liable for delays, cancellations, or an inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, public health emergencies, utility outages, or other events that prevent safe travel or access to a property. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected appointments as soon as conditions allow and will keep clients informed throughout any resulting delay.
19. Termination of Service
Either party may choose to end an ongoing service relationship at any time. Clients wishing to discontinue recurring service should provide notice prior to the next scheduled appointment. Sparkli2Shine reserves the right to decline or discontinue service to any client for reasons including, but not limited to, unsafe working conditions, repeated non-payment, disrespectful treatment of our team, or a pattern of last-minute cancellations.
In the event of termination by either party, any outstanding balance for services already rendered remains due and payable. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before discontinuing an ongoing service relationship, except in cases involving safety concerns or repeated policy violations.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sparkli2Shine’s total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost income, inconvenience, or emotional distress, arising from the performance or non-performance of services.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Sparkli2Shine or its team members, where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
21. Indemnification
Clients agree to indemnify and hold Sparkli2Shine harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the client’s failure to disclose known hazards, provide accurate property information, or comply with the access and safety expectations outlined in these Terms, except where such claims arise from our own negligence or misconduct.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be interpreted to reflect the original intent as closely as possible within the limits of applicable law.
23. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any specific service agreement, quote, or booking confirmation provided to the client, constitute the entire agreement between the client and Sparkli2Shine regarding the services described. Any prior discussions, understandings, or representations not reflected in these Terms or a written agreement are superseded by this document.
24. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and the State of Iowa, as applicable to the location of the service provided, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from services rendered will first be addressed through direct communication between the client and Sparkli2Shine in a good-faith effort to reach a resolution. If a resolution cannot be reached informally, disputes may be resolved through mediation or in a court of competent jurisdiction within the Quad Cities region.
25. Changes to These Terms
Sparkli2Shine reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services, pricing structure, or business practices. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Clients are encouraged to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any changes that may affect their service agreement.
